ABOUT US

SaveGirdValley.com works to protect and preserve historic Gird Valley in North San Diego County.

SaveGirdValley.com is building on the efforts of hundreds of volunteers in Gird Valley, and all their neighbors in North San Diego County, who worked together in 2016 to save a fallowed 116-acre golf course from residential development. The  original group, organized as SaveFallbrookGolfCourse.com, succeeded in securing a new owner for the property which is currently being transformed into Monserate Winery and vineyard. The land will be protected forever by conservations easements.

Picturesque Gird Valley is located in Fallbrook, the Avocado Capital of the World, surrounded by heavily populated Southern California. To the north is Live Oak Park and Live Oak Creek runs along Gird Road and through the valley with its vineyard, flowing into the San Luis Rey River to the south. Hillsides of avocado groves embrace the valley, its shady oaks and towering sycamore groves. Set 17 miles inland from the coast, Gird Valley benefits from a rare Mediterranean climate, offering its inhabitants and visitors some  of the finest weather on the planet.
